Daily Art Challenge Week Six Update
Week 6 of my daily art challenge. I’m pretty proud of some of the pieces I have created this week. Particularly the swimming pool piece on day 31. I think this is quite a refined style. But I also like the looser, messier style in the countryside oil pastel piece I created on day 33. I’m starting to see a style coming through with some of the mediums I am using, but I’m not sure how they all work together.
Day 31 - 14/08/22
I created two pieces today for day 31. I really like these pool pieces created using the Ohuhu pens and then adding the details with white posca. My little sketchbook is starting to look like a style is forming 😊
Day 32 - 15/08/22
Lighthouse and a little motivational quote piece for today’s daily art.
Day 33 - 17/08/22
Countryside vibes on a rainy afternoon 😊 this was a quick oil pastel piece inspired by the Sussex countryside I’m surrounded by.
Day 34 - 18/08/22
I thought I would try an old draw this in your style today. It was an Instagram art challenge created by Furry Little Peach a while ago. I loved using lots of colours, of course!
Day 35 - 19/08/22
How cute is this little house 🥰 I created this with a black fine liner and coloured it with my Ohuhu markers. I filmed this one for a potential YouTube video which I why I took a full messy arty flat lay shot.
I made two copies of this design and intended to paint the second, but I couldn’t be bothered to get all my paints out, so I used some old Faber-Castell connector pens, of which I only have one of each standard rainbow colour, so I created an interesting version, swipe to the end to see it.
I really like using pens over paint at the moment I think it’s just so much easier. But there are so many I would like to try that my budget just doesn’t allow for right now. Having limited options pushes me to develop what I’m creating, and I’m enjoying the process.
Day 36 - 20/08/22
I have had a busy weekend making the most of spending time with people, so my art challenge went out of the window. Yesterday evening I had a little time and created a few quick doodles. I tried using a pale colour palette in this one, and I like it. I love colour, particularly bright colours, but I think this still looks great! Choosing a colour palette and sticking to it is a hard one for me as I love a change 😊
